"In fact, Turkey is already around the table, de facto," said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in an interview with the Turkish TV channel, A Haber, on October 16, while answering the question about "Will there be results at a table without Turkey in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict?".

The President noted that this is a reality and today Turkey is discussing this issue with other countries in the region: "You also know that there was a telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and Turkey, a telephone conversation between the foreign ministers and the defense ministers. At the same time, high-ranking Turkish officials had contacts with their Iranian counterparts and other countries... That is why Turkey is here de facto. Simply because the Minsk Group was established in 1992, it is already a member of the Minsk Group, and then I do not know why Turkey did not be co-chair. We would like Turkey to be the co-chair from the very beginning. But then Turkey itself did not do it. If he wanted to, I think he would. That is why I say that there is a big difference between today's Erdogan's Turkey and that Turkey. If Turkey was a co-chair, then, of course, this issue would have been resolved long ago. That is why we say that this issue cannot be resolved without Turkey. I am not saying that the Minsk Group should go down in history, but let them work. However, they have not achieved a single result for 30 years. But it is neither right nor possible to keep Turkey out of this process."
