Sahiba Gafarova thanked Turkey’s parties supporting Azerbaijan

Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova addressed a letter to Chairman of Turkey’s Grand National Assembly Mustafa Sentop, Press and public relations department of the Azerbaijani Parliament told APA.

It is stated in the letter that the Joint Statement sharply condemning another act of aggression and provocation committed by Armenia adopted on September 28, 2020 by the political parties represented in Turkey’s Grand National Assembly – Justice and Development Party, Republican People’s Party, Nationalist Movement Party and IYI Party was greeted with great sympathy in Azerbaijan.

The Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament expressed her gratitude on her oün behalf and on behalf of all members of Milli Mejlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan for putting forward of resolute and fair stance by the parties. It is stated in the letter that currently, Azerbaijan using the right given to it by the international law, fights for liberation of lands left under Armenia’s occupation: "We as a peaceful state have waited patiently for peaceful solution of the conflict at the table of negotiations for the recent 30 years. We have demanded implementation of the decisions and resolutions of multiple international organizations headed by the UN and the OSCE regarding solution of the conflict based on the principle of restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. But during these 30 years, neither those decisions were implemented by Armenia, nor the international community put pressure on Armenia so that it would implement these decisions. And ultimately, this resulted in the new attack on Azerbaijan by Armenia left unpunished and its attempt to occupy new lands. But the resoluteness of Azerbaijan’s glorious army has already made null and void this attempt of Armenians. We are sure that with such a resoluteness, our glorious army will completely liberate our lands in a short time and Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity will be ensured".

It was noted in the letter that this statement once again showed that Azerbaijan and Turkey always stand by each other in all issues bearing national character.
