Speaker of TGNA: "Railway line to be constructed through Kars will increase the strategic importance of Nakhchivan"

"87 Deputies of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), represented in Turkish-US Friendship Group, severely reacting to the appeal of 54 members of the US Senate against Turkey and Azerbaijan issued a statement," said Speaker of the TGNA Mustafa Sentop at the meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, APA's bureau in Turkey reports.
According to him, it has been noted in the statement that criticizing Azerbaijan, which protects its territorial integrity, and Turkey, which stands by Azerbaijan relevant to international law, instead of condemning aggressor Armenia, which occupied 20% of Azerbaijani territories for more than 30 years, killed innocent children and women in many cities, especially in Khojaly, caused surprise.
“We had a phone conversation with the chairperson of Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova regarding the issue. We welcomed the statement of Milli Majlis dated February 14, 2020, regarding the letter addressed to US President by some members of Senate,” he emphasized.
According to M. Sentop, a painting exhibition dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide will be organized by Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey next week.
M. Sentop touched upon the importance of Nakhchivan corridor. Chairperson of Turkish Parliament noted that the railway line to be constructed through Kars will also increase the strategic importance of Nakhchivan.
