Turkish FM: “We want to strengthen Turkic Council”

“We want to strengthen Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking states (Turkic Council)”, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told reporters after extraordinary meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of member states of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking states, APA reports.

M. Cavusoglu noted that discussions have been held in this direction today: “A meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers will also be held at the UN General Assembly in New York. We will present our suggestions to heads of our states on the eve of 8th meeting of the Council. The meeting, held in Baku, is very successful. We see attention to the Council has increased after the meeting. We have conducted discussions of the states, wanting observer status, partnership status in the Council. That is why the meeting is very useful. We express our gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in relation to organization of the meeting.”
