"We are very satisfied with signing a protocol, allowing mutual visits of Azerbaijani and Turkish citizens with Identification cards within the framework of the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to friend and brother Azerbaijan on December 9-10, 2020 on the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, says Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey (MFA), APA's bureau in Turkey reports.
It has been noted that the period of stay of citizens of both countries without a visa was extended from 30 days to 90 days on February 25, 2020, immediate after Azerbaijan abolished visa regime for Turkish citizens: "With the protocol signed by Turkish Foreign Minister with his Azerbaijani counterpart on December 10, 2020, citizens of both countries will be able to visit Turkey and Azerbaijan with just an Identification card."
