Turkish President: “We can extend Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway until Central Asia"

“Occurrences demonstrate great importance of transportation corridor over the Caspian Sea once more”, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Extraordinary Summit of the Turkic Council through videoconferencing, APA reports.

R. Erdogan stated that it is possible to extend the railway to Central Asia which was established for cargo transportation among Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia: “We try to transport daily 3 thousand 500 tons of cargo through Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway."

Emphasizing the need to simplify the process of transporting goods through this transport corridor, to make certain compromises, Mr. Erdogan suggested holding a video conference of the ministers of trade and transport of the Turkish Council.
