Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met Baghdad Amreyev, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, APA reports citing the MInistry.
On the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in Antalya, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (the Turkic Council), Bagdad Amreyev.
Secretary General Bagdad Amreyev expressed satisfaction with the high level organization of the Baku Summit of the Turkic Council and highly appreciated the experience of Azerbaijan on hosting such events. Underlining the increasing interest towards the Turkic Council, Secretary General informed that many states expressed their desire to join the organization as an observer.
Speaking about the upcoming main tasks of the organization, Bagdad Amreyev said that the issue of holding the meeting of the Ministers of Energy is on the agenda.
On his turn, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov thanked his interlocutor for presenting comprehensive information on the key issues of the Turkic Council agenda and appraised the projects and events to be implemented by the organization.
At the meeting the sides also discussed other issues related to the activities of the Turkic Council.
