Azerbaijani FM: "Swiss company Frank Muller opened a factory in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan"

"A number of companies operate in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan", said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov while delivering speech at the international conference "Illegal economic and other activities in the occupied territories: the responsibilities of third parties and their influence on the settlement of the conflict", ONA reports.

Elmar Mammadyarov said that the Swiss “Frank Muller” is a well-known watchmaking company: “This company produces wooden watch cases made of trees in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The company opened a factory there. We raised this issue before Switzerland, we will observe the process. If a company cares about its reputation, then it should not conduct such activities. We turn to the governments of the countries to which these companies belong. Some countries claim that they do not interfere in the activities of private companies, but they should. Responsibility lies with the government. The authorities should not allow these companies to operate in the occupied territories.”

The minister noted that, using different methods, Armenia illegally settles the occupied territories: “Armenia even states that after the Syrian crisis, about 250 thousand refugees arrived in the country. According to our data, some of them were located in our occupied territories. This is unacceptable. Because it does not contribute to the solution of the conflict, but on the contrary, it creates new difficulties.”
