Azerbaijani MFA releases information on abolition visa regime for Turkish citizens

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has released information regarding the abolition of Visa regime between Turkey and Azerbaijan, APA reports.

It is stated that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey that lean on joint ethnic-cultural and historical roots, brotherhood, friendship and solidarity is at the high level.

“Today our bilateral relations are successfully developing due to efforts of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Receb Tayyip Erdogan. Strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkey creates conditions for reevaluation of cooperation between our countries in visa sphere and importance of provision of free movement of our people. From this point of view, visa requirement is cancelled for citizens of Turkey, who have citizenship passport and want to visit Azerbaijan for 30 days, since September 1, 2019. A note has been sent from to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey on cancellation of visa requirement. Note for additional information, the status of Turkish citizens, wanting to stay in Azerbaijan for more than 30 days, will be regulated in accordance with the relevant laws of Azerbaijan. Under the decision of Turkey government, Azerbaijan citizens, visiting Turkey for 30 days, are free from visa requirements.
Cancellation of visa requirements will be next substantial contribution to the rising development of fraternity and friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey”, mentioned in the information.
