A solemn reception was held in the US capital Washington on the occasion of May 28 - Republic Day and the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic service of Azerbaijan, The Azerbaijani embassy in the United States told APA.
About a thousand people took part in the reception, including representatives of the Presidential Administration, the State Department, Pentagon officials, generals, members of Congress, representatives of other government agencies, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, sociological centers, and the public in various US states.
The reception was also attended by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey Abdulhamit Gul, a delegation of the Oklahoma National Guard.
