“Social protection is a field distinguished for its most serious changes in Azerbaijan. Pension reform, execution of projects related to social services, establishment of DOST Agency are good examples for it”, the Head of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas said in Closing ceremony of Twinning project named “Support to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population”, APA reports.
According to him, investing in education and human capital, and meeting needs of connecting them with following employment mean the road, leading to the future: “The European Union is glad to participate in these works. We are always ready to share advanced experience. There will be many opportunities for increase of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU.”
The Ambassador stated that there already was a very good ground for signing a new cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU: “20 years passed since signing previous agreement. New cooperation agreement will be basis for establishment more advanced projects. We are working with the Ministry of Economy on signing new cooperation agreement for following 2 years. We hope that it will also be realized this year.”
