Khalaf Khalafov: "There is not any confrontation and division among the Caspian littoral states"

“Adoption the Convention on “Legal status of the Caspian Sea” is characterized as a great success of multiple-sided diplomacy by international experts and politicians. The Convention is achievement of Caspian littoral states”, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, APA reports.
He noted that the Convention on “Legal Status of the Caspian Sea” established unity of security interests, besides creating legal base for political stability, mutual understanding, and economic cooperation: “There are not any confrontations or difference of opinions among Caspian littoral states. However, in early times there were discords and skeptic approach.”
Deputy minister said that, understanding, mutual friendship relations have played significant role in the adoption of the convention.
K.Khalafov stated that Convention on the legal status of Caspian Sea has strengthen political dialogue among countries of the region, opened new horizons for economic cooperation and crated opportunities in order to carry out economic projects.
Deputy minister stressed that the ratification of the convention will be considered by Russian State Duma in September.
