The sides of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can look for ways to reduce the hatred. We accept the idea of establishing relationships among people, visiting graves, and even preparing journalists for good interviews, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov at the press conference organized after EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation Council meeting, ONA reports.
Minister stated that the Vienna meeting has recently finished: “We made a statement after the meeting. Three hours after the statement Armenian defense minister declared that he has a new formula and this not “peace for the region”, but “new wars – new lands” formula. This creates great confusion. We are making positive progress on the one hand and the Armenian Defense Minister, on the other hand, creates new difficulties. This is one of the things we should work on, but we can not do it ourselves. Armenia should do something. One thing should be understood that occupation and separatism do not work in international relations today. They can be encouraged by some forces today. And I am again saying that UNSC’s four resolution reflects territorial integrity, sovereignty, and international borders principles. We are open to discussion. Everything can be discussed based on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. One issue is clear that Armenian military presence should be ended. As long as, military troops are facing each other, this creates problems instead of regulation”.
