Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be discussed during the 28th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to be held on 4-8 July 2019 in Luxembourg, ONA reports referring to the official website of OSCE PA.

At the meeting of the Political Affairs and Security Committee, Irish Rapporteur Alan Farrell's report entitled "Promoting Sustainable Development: the Role of Parliaments will be discussed. The report notes that there is no continuous progress in solving the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions of Azerbaijan.

It is reported that the resolution of the conflict was settled in the resolutions of the UN Security Council's 822, 853, 874 and 884 resolutions and the "Situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan" adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2008. It is also noted that a report on the visit of the OSCE fact-finding mission to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in the OSCE PA was adopted in 2005.

It is emphasized that in resolutions on these and other conflicts, the OSCE PA confirms full support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and internationally recognized borders of member states involved in conflicts.

The draft resolution, which is expected to be adopted on the report, has also been announced.

In the project, it is expressed concern over the lack of sustainable progress in establishing a constructive dialogue among the sides of the protracted conflicts in the OSCE area, namely the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven distinct districts of Azerbaijan.

The draft resolution states that the member states of the OSCE are encouraging the intensification of targeted negotiations within existing formats of conflicts and urges the parties to join the unconditional goodwill negotiations for comprehensive and lasting peace within the sovereignty, territorial integrity and full support of the internationally recognized borders.
