Panel discussion held at PACE on Armenians’ illegal activities in occupied Azerbaijani lands

An event titled “Illegal activities in and with regard to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan: implications for the commitments taken before the Council of Europe” was held by Azerbaijan’s delegation and Permanent Mission to the PACE, ONA’s western European bureau reports.

The panel session, moderated by the Azerbaijani delegation’s head to the PACE, Samad Seyidov, provided information about the acts of Armenians against the cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan in the occupied Azerbaijani lands, their illegal exploitation, and the damage inflicted to the personal and public property.

The panel session presented the documents on these facts to the public.

Azerbaijan’s authorized representative at the European Court of Human Rights, Chingiz Asgarov, Chairman of AzerGold’s Executive Board Zakir Ibrahimov, and Professor Emeritus of International Law at the LUISS Guido Carli University of Italy Natalino Ronzitti addressed the panel session.

The meeting also touched upon the European Court of Human Rights decision, dated June 16, 2015, on the “Chiragov and Others against Armenia” case. It was noted that an end was put to the Armenians’ allegations on this case.

At the panel session, it was noted that such events would be held during the next PACE sessions as well.
