President Ilham Aliyev: “Azerbaijan has rich tolerance, multiculturalism traditions”

“Azerbaijan has rich tolerance, multiculturalism traditions”, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev said at the XVIII Summit of heads of members states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement which is held in Baku, APA reports.

Head of state noted that multiculturalism is life style of Azerbaijani people: “The Baku Process, Azerbaijan started with participation of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Council of Europe 11 years ago, has been supported by the UN. UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres assessed Baku Process as a frontline of the promotion of dialogue among cultures since 2008. World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, which has been established as a logical continuation of the Baku Process and held in Azerbaijan in two years, has already been recognized as a global platform for promotion of intercultural dialogue with UN General Assembly resolutions.”

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his certainty that discussions to be held in the framework of the XVIII Baku Summit will serve for realization of the targets, included in the agenda of the Non-Aligned Movement: “Azerbaijan will make consecutive efforts to carry out its priorities with member states during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement.”
