Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met with the President of the UN General Assembly Tijjani Muhammed-Bande within the framework of the XVIII Summit of Non-Alignment Movement held in Baku, Azerbaijani MFA told APA.
Noted that successful cooperation is carried out between Azerbaijan and the UN and exchange of opinions has been held on the perspectives of the relations in the meeting.
The Minister also said that the opportunities for expansion of cooperation between the Non-Aligned Movement and Group 77 would be reviewed during the presidency of Azerbaijan. The President of the UN General Assembly Tijjani Mohammed-Bande expressed his gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan on the excellent organization, hospitality and hosting of the XVIII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement. He has stressed out the active role of Azerbaijan within the UN. It has been noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan has submitted its second voluntary national report on the implementation of sustainable development goals. The sides have largely exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and the ones on the UN agenda.
