President of UN General Assembly: “We should prevent conflicts igniting in the world”
“I am satisfied to take part in the XVIII Baku Summit of the heads of member states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement”, said President of the UN General Assembly Tijjani Muhammed-Bande in the XVIII Baku Summit of the heads of member states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement, APA reports.
He stated that Summit is the indicator of existence of solidarity among member states of the Non-Aligned Movement: “The UN, which was established after II World War, has always tried for peace and justice. The UN resolution is the greatest guarantee for peace. We should achieve our goals by cooperating against terrorism and ruinous wars and respect Non-Aligned Movement principles.”
The President of the UN General Assembly said that the principles of Bandung and the UN Charter must remain on the basis of peace in the world: “We have to find such solutions that many problems will be solved and this should cover all countries of the world. We must achieve peace and social justice. We have to provide access to education, fight against unemployment and other social hurdles, and protect the rights of families, especially young girls. The access of young girls to education is essential, and these efforts must be made perpetually. Simultaneously, we have to prevent igniting conflicts around the world”.
Tijjani Mohammed-Bande wished success to Azerbaijan throughout its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.
