“Inability of monitoring bodies of European Council and High Commissioner on Human Rights to work in Nagorno Karabakh is unacceptable”, said Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland at the press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, ONA European bureau reports.

According to him, High Commissioner on Human Rights and monitoring bodies of the Council of Europe should be able to work anywhere: “Their work should not be impacted by the political status of the region where they work. There are some areas in Europe where to work is impossible. We call them “grey zones”. Nagorno Karabakh is one of these regions. Inability to work there is unacceptable”.
