2018 CAMCA Regional Forum underway in Baku

The 2018 CAMCA (Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan) Regional Forum kicked off in Baku on June 22.

CAMCA (Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan) Regional Forum is a non-political and non-partisan Forum established to promote region-wide discussions on means of advancing economic growth and social development in Greater Central Asia (Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan).

Former World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz, former Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoyev, Chairman of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and Silk Road Studies Program in the US Frederick Starr, Georgian Prime Minister's Foreign Relations Advisor Tedo Japaridze and others are among the international participants of the Forum. Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov, Minister of Taxes Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, Director General of Baku International Sea Trade Port Taleh Ziyadov and others are expected to address the two-day.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the forum, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev said that this forum is held annually in different countries.

"I believe that within two days the guests will be able to hold important discussions within the forum and receive information on Azerbaijan," he said.

Director of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and Silk Road Studies Program Svante Cornell spoke about the importance of the event and wished success to the participants.
