Azerbaijan asked France for support in the negotiations on a new strategic partnership agreement with the European Union, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
He made the remarks at a joint press conference with French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian in Baku on Sunday, APA reports.
Mammadyarov emphasized that there is considerable progress in the negotiations between Azerbaijan and the EU on a new agreement. “I asked France to support Azerbaijan in this issue as an EU member-state,” he added.
