Talks on new Azerbaijan-EU agreement may end by late 2018 â€“ deputy FM

The negotiations between Azerbaijan and the European Union on a new partnership agreement may come to an end by the end of 2018, said Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev.

Mammad-Guliyev announced that a videoconference dedicated to cooperation on sectoral blocs in the negotiations with the EU will be held on December 15.

“Cooperation in the energy, environmental and other spheres will be discussed during the conference,” he said.

The deputy FM noted that negotiations on the remaining blocs could take place in January-February next year.

“There is progress in the negotiations. I believe the negotiations with the EU will end by the end of next year,” added Mammad-Guliyev.
