Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov have had a telephone conversation, the spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Hikmat Hajiyev, told APA.
The phone conversation took place at the request of the Russian side, said Hajiyev.
The spokesman noted that the ministers discussed the prospects for development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, a draft convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea and preparations for the forthcoming summit of the Caspian littoral states.
They also discussed the negotiation process for the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
