Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry hosts meeting with foreign military attaches

On April 20, the Crisis Management Center of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations hosted a meeting with foreign military attaches accredited in the country.

The meeting was attended by the military attaches of the embassies of the U.S., Russia, China, Turkey, Great Britain, Italy, Iran, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Hungary in Azerbaijan, the ministry told APA.

Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Lieutenant General Faig Taghizade thoroughly informed the military attaches about the ministry’s activity, its agencies as well as about the work done in the country to prevent emergencies and eliminate their consequences.

He emphasized that the Emergency Situations Ministry closely cooperates with international organizations and relevant bodies of numerous countries.

The deputy minister said that under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the ministry provided assistance to several countries, including Russia, Turkey and Israel in preventing emergencies and eliminating their consequences. He added that humanitarian aid was sent to some countries.

Later on, the military attaches watched a video about the Caspian 2017 international training, organized by the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry with the participation of the relevant bodies of the Caspian littoral states.

Deputy Head of the Crisis Management Center Asmar Salamova made a presentation about the center’s work.

Colonel Adil Abdullayev, Head of the Crisis Management Center briefed the military attaches on the center’s activity.

Colonel Erguj Kalantarli, Head of the International Relations Department of the Emergency Situations Ministry thanked the military attaches and expressed confidence that the cooperation will continue in the future.

At the end of the meeting, a memorable gift was given to the Emergency Situations Ministry on behalf of the Association of foreign military attaches accredited in Azerbaijan.
