Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev on Friday commented on the meeting of Raul Khajimba, the leader of Abkhazia separatists with Alexei Pavlovsky, the Director of the Fourth CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as well as representatives of the self-proclaimed “Nagorno-Karabakh republic”, “republic of Transnistria” and “republic of South Ossetia”.
“We do assess it as an act seriously undermining peace and security in the region” said Hajiyev. “This action is in no way helpful in building trust for lasting peace and stability in the region. On the contrary, it can serve for further deterioration of already tense situation.”
“Via diplomatic channels we will communicate our serious concerns and protest to Russian Foreign Ministry,” added Hajiyev.
