Franceâ€™s Macron congratulates President Ilham Aliyev on presidential election victory

French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his victory in the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

"I congratulate on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I wish you success in your activity for the well-being of the people of Azerbaijan,” the French president said in his congratulatory letter.

“On this occasion, I would like to emphasize that I intend to develop our bilateral relations in the coming years and do our utmost to contribute to the efforts to find a negotiated solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. As I mentioned in my letter to you on February 21 this year, it is important to exchange views about these issues and I would like to meet with you in Paris in the coming months,” Macron said.

“I once again convey my best wishes to you and to the people of Azerbaijan. Please accept the assurances of my highest respect,” added the French leader.
