‘Our several counterparts are trying to put a spanner in the works we jointly did for solution of Syrian conflict’, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Russia, Turkey and Iran in Moscow.

Lavrov reminded air strikes launched by US and its allies on Syria on April 14: ‘the airstrikes on the sovereign state of Syria aggravated the situation not only in Syria, but also in the international arena. This is a violation of international law and damaged perspectives of peaceful solution of the Syrian conflict. Initiators of this action proved that their statements about Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and unity are just words. These words are used to hide the plan to redesign the Middle East and split Syria. I’m sure than Russia, Iran and Turkey are interested in Syria’s remaining as a single state where all ethnic groups live with equal rights’.
