Blinken further noted: "In my phone conversation with both leaders, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, they declared that they are ready for peace. Working within a strong, sustainable diplomatic framework is the best way forward for all. There is no military solution to the differences of opinion between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but there is a path to the lasting peace that resolves the differences of opinion through diplomacy."
