“For 30 years, great suffering was experienced in the territories occupied by Armenians, crimes were committed against humanity, historical, religious and cultural heritage was destroyed,” Fahrettin Altun, Head of the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration of Turkiye said in his speech at the "Garabagh Victory Conference: An Ancient Homeland Regaining Freedom" event held in Ankara, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

He noted that Armenians committed a great genocide in Khojaly: “They not only martyred our 613 brothers and sisters but also lost their humanity there. Armenian gangs continued their oppression for 30 years. Those who supported Armenia either turned a blind eye to this, or were against Azerbaijan. Armenia's provocations in 2020 exceeded their limit and Azerbaijan started a glorious struggle. Azerbaijani army demonstrated unprecedented heroism and liberated its lands during the 44-day war. Azerbaijani flags waved again in Karabakh, and the call to prayer sounded.”

F. Altun added that Turkiye never left Azerbaijan alone in its righteous struggle. "Our leaders stand shoulder to shoulder with the slogan "One nation, two states". The Karabakh Victory was a sign of friendship and brotherhood of the entire Turkic world, especially Azerbaijan and Turkiye."

According to him, in addition to political and military support, Turkiye also stood by Azerbaijan in the information war.
