The Embassy of Indonesia in Baku held an official reception on the occasion of celebrating the 77th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Inam Karimov, Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan attended the reception as an honored guest. Ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, private sector and media, as well as the Indonesian community in Azerbaijan and friends of Indonesia also attended the event.
The event began with the singing of the national anthems of both countries and continued with speeches by the Indonesian ambassador and the guests of honor.
Ambassador Hildi Hamid emphasized in his speech that Indonesia and Azerbaijan have had successful bilateral relations for the past 30 years.
Touching on Indonesia-Azerbaijan bilateral relations, the ambassador added that the two countries have strengthened their cooperation in recent years.
Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov also delivered a congratulatory speech on the occasion of the Independence Day of Indonesia and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also emphasized that there are strong bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade and international organizations.
Cultural performances including various traditional dances and musical instruments such as the angklung, talempong, and sape were performed after the successful ceremony.
To convey the rich and varied culture of Indonesia to the international public, a small exhibition of traditional clothing, textiles, and handicrafts from the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, and Kalimantan was organized on the occasion of the reception.
