Armenian Deputy FM comments on progress of negotiations with Azerbaijan

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan commented on the negotiations with Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The Armenian diplomat told journalists about this within the framework of today's meeting of theArmenia's Parliament.

Safaryan said that there is a draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan and negotiations are currently underway.

He said that Armenia was guided by the idea of ​​developing mechanisms for the protection of the rights and security of Karabakh Armenians during the negotiations with the Azerbaijani side.

Answering the question about which country will provide the necessary mechanisms in the negotiation process, Safaryan said that there are several options - it can be either individual countries or the UN Security Council.

Mnatsakan Safaryan, speaking about the expected Moscow meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, said that all other issues, including the opening of communications, will be discussed here.

He added that at the Moscow meeting, not the Brussels project, but the topics formed by both sides will be discussed.

"As for Armenia and Azerbaijan recognizing each other's territorial integrity, there is nothing new here," added the deputy head of the MFA of Armenia.

As for the platform for negotiations, the deputy minister emphasized that several platforms are used at the same time, including the Russian platform.
