The ruling Civil Contract faction did not approve the draft statement of the opposition accusing Azerbaijan of blocking Lachin road at the meeting of the foreign relations committee of the Armenian Parliament, APA citing Sputnik Armenia.

The project was presented by Andranik Tevanyan, deputy of the oppositional Hayastan faction.

As a result of the discussions, he said that the project was withdrawn for revision and accused the ruling faction of pursuing an "Anti-Karabakh policy."

Maria Karapetyan, co-rapporteur from the "Civil Agreement" faction, reminded that parliament made a statement on Lachin road on December 16. She stressed that at that time, the MPs of the "Hayastan" faction were offered to combine both texts and prepare a joint document, but no positive response was received.

Reminding that since December 12, a peaceful protest action on the Lachin-Khankendi road has been held by Azerbaijani eco-activists in protest against the illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan's natural resources.
