"Assistant o the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan commented on the refusal of the Armenian side to provide coordinates for the opening of communications between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Azerbaijan," Assistant to Azerbaijani President Hikmat Hajiyev told journalists in Shusha, APA reports.

"First of all, we must consider the trilateral statement. Paragraph 9 of the statement states that Armenia must ensure the unimpeded passage of vehicles through the territory and has undertaken a commitment in this regard Unfortunately, the Armenian side has not yet fulfilled this commitment. Therefore, the Azerbaijani side raises this issue at every opportunity. Because this is an obligation of Armenia, according to the trilateral statement. This issue is raised persistently by Azerbaijan on various platforms, "Hikmet Hajiyev said.

He stressed that the Azerbaijani side, based on its responsibilities and in accordance with its political agenda, continues its efforts to further stabilize the situation in the region, and strengthen peace and open communications.

"These opportunities are realized on the basis of Azerbaijan's national interests," the presidential assistant added.
