The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Zbigniew Rau within the framework of the high-level week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced, APA reports.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries, as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the anti-terrorism measures taken by our side against the illegal Armenian armed forces, who are the remnants of nearly 30 years of occupation, as one of the major obstacles to achieving peace and stability in the region, emphasizing that within the framework of these measures, all necessary steps have been taken by our side to ensure the safety of the Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region.

It has been emphasized that the claims of a supposed "humanitarian crisis" and "blockade" in the region, voiced within the framework of the disinformation campaign conducted by Armenia to delay the peace process and the reintegration of Armenian residents into our society, are baseless.

It has been stated that the recent implementation of the long-standing proposal and encouragement by Azerbaijan to simultaneously open the Aghdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads actually demonstrates that the matter has been on the negotiation table for quite some time. However, it is delayed through artificial obstacles, as it does not serve the interests of Armenia and the fabricated regime.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
