The newly appointed ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany, Nasimi Agayev, presented his credentials to the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, APA reports citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The President of Germany had a conversation with the ambassador. The foreign policy advisor of the President of Germany, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other officials took part in the conversation.
"Ambassador Nasimi Agayev conveyed the greetings of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the head of state of Germany. The diplomat said that he was honored to be accredited as the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Germany and said that he would try to further deepen and strengthen the relations between the two countries in his new post.
In his turn, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev and asked to convey his sincere greetings to the head of our state.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the development of Azerbaijan-Germany relations, regional security issues, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
Azerbaijan's national flag was raised at the event held at Bellevue Palace of the German President in Berlin," the embassy said.
