On April 30, 2022, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) Zurab Pololikashvili, APA reports citing the ministry's press service.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Zurab Pololikashvili on his re-election as WTO Secretary-General.
During the meeting, the sides praised the organization's activity under the leadership of the Secretary-General, especially new, innovative approaches to cooperation issues.
Noting that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the development of tourism, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that in recent years, our country has been implementing large-scale work to develop infrastructure in this area. The Secretary-General was informed that Azerbaijan is interested in increasing tourism opportunities not only at the national level but also at the regional level. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side about the opportunities in the field of tourism in the liberated territories of our country.
