“The attack on Azerbaijani embassy in London by a radical religious group on August 4 is unacceptable and we condemn it,” said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in his interview with Turkish media in Ankara, APA reports.
The minister stressed that vandalism was committed by the radical religious group, and several countries, especially Turkiye objected to it. He expressed gratitude to all the countries which had not kept silent during that period.
The minister noted that the relevant bodies had been informed about the attack, and the representative of the British embassy in Baku had been summoned in Azerbaijani MFA: “Our first demand from Britain is to provide a strict guarantee that such a situation will not happen again. It is Britain’s obligation according to the Vienna convention. We, Azerbaijan take this issue seriously. All diplomatic missions in Azerbaijan are protected at the highest level. We expect this approach from Britain too. Our other expectation is to conduct very serious investigations in the field of determining the perpetrators of the attack and those who stand behind them. We are waiting for the results.”
