Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi in Budapest as a part of his visit to Hungary, the Ministry told APA.
Relations between Azerbaijan and the EU, as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed during the meeting.
In the field of connections, the Azerbaijani Top Diplomat who touched upon the initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan in the direction of expanding the potential of the Middle Corridor - Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, noted that the opening of all transport and communications in the region, including the Zangazur corridor, can be a significant contribution to the process.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict stage, the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the signing of a peace treaty, the steps taken by Azerbaijan in the direction of the reintegration of the Armenian population living in the region, as well as the provocations of Armenia that undermine the peace process.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were exchanged.
