Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who is on a visit to Switzerland, met with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, the Ministry of Azerbaijan told APA.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the ICRC, current challenges and future prospects against the background of the latest situation in the region.
The necessity of parallel use of the Aghdam-Khankandi and Lachin-Khankandi roads was asserted in order to meet the needs of Armenian residents through the ICRC in compliance with Azerbaijani legislation and relevant procedures. Despite the agreements reached, it was noted that Armenia and the puppet regime created by it grossly violated these agreements. It was added that Armenia's 'blockade' claims are groundless, while the passage of Armenian residents in both directions is ensured on the Lachin road on a daily basis.
In general, it was stressed that the obstruction to the transportation of goods to the territory through Azerbaijan is a political manipulation and is a part of Armenia's attempts to incite separatism.
