We resolutely condemn the nonsensical claims voiced by Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan at the joint press conference with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic on May 4, about Azerbaijan establishing a checkpoint on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, as well as allegedly, Azerbaijan intensifying the situation on the border with Armenia, creating crisis in Karabakh region, says the information released by Azerbaijani MFA, APA reports.
“Any comment on the issue of the establishment of the "Lachin" border checkpoint, which Azerbaijan created on its sovereign territory and where Armenian residents have already started to cross transparently in both directions, is unacceptable. Armenian side should put an end to interfering in Azerbaijan’s internal issues and the aggressive policy that it has been conducting against Azerbaijan for many years.
As for the nonsensical claims of the Prime Minister regarding “ethnic cleansing,” we would like to note that instead of admitting and apologizing for the policy of mass massacres and deportations carried out with particular cruelty against Azerbaijanis throughout history, blaming Azerbaijan for such acts is an indication of not learning from history.
It does not serve peace for the Armenian side to make such statements at a time when the negotiations on the peace agreement are ongoing,” the information reads.
