The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan regards the opening of the Aghdam-Khankandi road as an important advancement, said Aykhan Hajizada, Spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in response to the questions of the local media regarding the passage of the cargo sent by the Russian Red Cross through the Aghdam-Khankandi road, as well as the opening of the Aghdam-Khankandi and Lachin roads at the same time, APA reports.
"As is known, in coordination with the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, the passage of the truck belonging to the Russian Red Cross Society to Khankandi through the Aghdam-Khankandi road has been ensured today. Despite the problems and provocations committed by the puppet regime of Armenia in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan, we regard the passage of the Russian Red Cross Society’s truck namely through the Aghdam-Khankandi road in coordination with Azerbaijan as a positive step and important advancement in the direction of the opening of this road.
Regarding the issue of the simultaneous use of the Aghdam-Khankandi and Lachin roads, as Azerbaijan noted during high-level contacts with the U.S. and other partners, Azerbaijan agreed to the issue of the simultaneous use of these two roads through the ICRC. Unfortunately, the party that prevents the implementation of this agreement is the puppet regime created by Armenia in the Garabagh region.
We once again declare that the Azerbaijani side is ready to create conditions for the transportation of cargo through the ICRC by following the border and customs procedures at the border crossing point of Lachin, parallel to the Aghdam-Khankandi road," Aykhan Hajizada said.
