Azerbaijani President will not receive Belgian FM due to her pro-Armenian position

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will not receive the Foreign Minister of Belgium due to her pro-Armenian position, APA reports.

Foreign Minister of Belgium Hadja Lahbib made pro-Armenian statements far from reality, inconsistent with the situation in the region while visiting Armenia.

As part of her visit to the region, the Belgian FM will visit Azerbaijan.

Usually, FMs of foreign countries visiting Azerbaijan are received by President Ilham Aliyev, and views are exchanged regarding bilateral relations, topical issues in the region and the world.

According to the information APA obtained, due to her pro-Armenian position and the baseless claims she voiced while on a visit to Armenia, President Ilham Aliyev will not receive the head of Belgian MFA.

A meeting of the Belgian FM with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov is planned today.

Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Labib's visit to the region started on August 22. She visited Armenia first, and on August 23 she visited Georgia. Hadja Labib, who also visited the so-called "Armenian Genocide" monument in Armenia, once again revealed her pro-Armenian position in her meetings with the foreign minister and the prime minister of Armenia, and made baseless claims against Azerbaijan.
