Azerbaijani Ombudsperson sends letter to Head of General Inspection Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran

Azerbaijan`s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva has sent a letter to the head of the human rights organization, the General Inspection Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Zabihullah Khodaeian, APA reports.

In her letter, the ombudswoman strongly condemned the terror act committed against the embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, Iran, on January 27, 2023, and pointed to the serious violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1973 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, including Diplomatic Agents.

The Azerbaijani Ombudsman urged the human rights organization of Iran to take necessary and urgent measures within its authority for bringing the organizers of this violent crime and its perpetrators to trial.
