Azerbaijan's representative will chair the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization for a period of 3 years

Within the framework of the Youth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Azerbaijan on July 25-29, for the first time in the 61-year history of the Movement, the NAM Youth Organization was established, which unites the youth of the NAM member countries, APA reports.

The document on the establishment of the National Youth Organization, which will go down in history as the Shusha Accord (Shusha Agreement), will serve to write the name of Shusha, the cultural capital of our country, in the history of the National Youth Organization.

The establishment of the National Assembly Youth Network is the second important initiative after the establishment of the National Assembly Parliamentary Network in the direction of the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement based on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The headquarters of the organization will be located in Baku. In addition, regional offices will be established in other regions represented by the member states. The organization will be chaired by the representative of Azerbaijan for the next 3 years.

The establishment of this organization was positively received and supported by the representatives of the member states participating in the UN Youth Summit, and gratitude was expressed to Azerbaijan for this important initiative that unites the youth of the UN member countries.

On October 4, 2021, with the transformation of the NaM Youth Network, which was created on the initiative of Azerbaijan, into the NaM Youth Organization, this institution, which unites the youth of the NaM member countries, has gained easier access to international platforms.

The delegations of the member countries of the NaM, who visited Shusha within the framework of the NaM Youth Summit, were informed about the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, the destruction that occurred during that period, as well as the restoration and reconstruction works carried out by the Government of Azerbaijan, including the historical and architectural monuments of the city of Shusha. have been

It should be noted that the UN includes 120 countries from 4 continents. Azerbaijan has been chairing the Movement since 2019. Although the term of the chairmanship should end in 2022, our chairmanship was extended for an additional year by the unanimous decision of the member states.
