Azerbaijan is a secure and reliable partner for not only Bulgaria but the whole EU, said former foreign minister of Bulgaria Ekaterina Zaharieva at a panel session of X Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
Ekaterina Zaharieva touched on relations with Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan plays an important role regarding our strategy in energy sources. We signed a strategic partnership with Azerbaijan many years ago, stated working on our cooperation, and formed a trust. Today 1/3 of Bulgaria's gas comes from Azerbaijan through TAP. After the signing of the cooperation document between Azerbaijan and the EU in the field of energy, we believe that this number will increase. Azerbaijan is a secure and reliable friend of not only Bulgaria but the whole EU. We should also learn from Azerbaijan's practice in transitioning to renewable energy".
