Chairman of the Information Policy Committee of the Russian State Duma Oleg Matveychev made provocative statement against Azerbaijan, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
In his statement to the "rusarminfo" website, the Duma deputy from the ruling United Russia Party voiced provocative views against Azerbaijan and Turkiye.
Thus, responding to the question regarding the statement of Dmitry Peskov on “Tripartite agreements of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on Karabakh are the only real basis for resolving the situation, their implementation is necessary. Russia is ready to welcome any step by the parties that can lead to a reduction of tensions and contribute to further progress towards the implementation of trilateral agreements”, Matveychev said that Azerbaijan and Turkiye are allegedly interested in the continuation of the conflict. He said that Baku and Ankara provoked Armenia to continue the conflict.
The chairman of the committee responsible for information policy in the Russian parliament said that Azerbaijan and Turkiye were allegedly not satisfied with the tripartite agreements reached so far and the end of the conflict.
"They consider that they can achieve completely everything. However, they had to reckon with Russia. They stopped accordingly," the Russian pro-Armenian parliamentarian made a statement that was inconsistent with the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
A video clip with Matveichev's voice has been posted on the website of Russian Armenians. The voice recording claims that Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and the West are not satisfied with peace in the South Caucasus: “Therefore they will do tehir utmost to provoke the conflict. Somewhere they will not implement any agreements reached, will commit some incidents somewhere, or Armenia or Russia to withdraw from the treaty. In that case the situation returns to the status of war and they advance and wage war. Therefore, the task is not to respond to such provocations, to conduct dialogue and implement agreements, including forcing those who signed these agreements to implement them,” Russian deputy concluded.
P.S. We bring to the attention of Matveychev, who is responsible for information policy in the Russian Parliament that during the 29 months after the 44-day war, Azerbaijan built and opened two international airports (Fuzuli and Zangilan) in the liberated territories. Moreover, construction works in Shusha, Aghdam, Kalbajar, Lachin, Gubadli are being continued rapidly.
Armenia did not do anything but turned those areas, that it kept under occupation for 28 years, into ruins. 29 moths and 28 years.. Comrade Matveychev, compare yourself! Is Azerbaijan, which constructed and put into use two international airports in 29 months, which constructed smart villages from zero and returned it to the people, not interested in peace, or Armenia, which dug trenches in those lands and built nothing but military barracks, turning the occupied territories into ruins for 28 years?!
