Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has released a statement regarding tension on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, APA's correspondent in Moscow reports.

The statement reads: "On the night of September 13, 2022, a clash took place on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan using heavy weapons and anti-aircraft missiles. As a result, there are dead and injured. We consider the use of force unacceptable. To resolve the contradictions, the agreements reflected in the statements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia on November 9, 2020, January 11, and November 26, 2021, and exclusively political and diplomatic methods should be used. We highly appreciate the mediation efforts of the Russian Federation in achieving a ceasefire on the contact line on September 13 this year from 09:00.

Besides, regarding Armenia's appeal to the CSTO Collective Security Council for assistance, the Secretariat of the Organization, together with the Joint Staff of the CSTO, organized work on activating CSTO mechanisms to settle the situation."
