Declaration was adopted at international conference on mine danger held in Baku

Declaration was adopted at the end of the international conference on “Mine Action – The Path to Reaching Sustainable Development Goals” held in Baku, APA reports.

Text of the declaration was read at the conference.

Later, the UN Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) for Rule of Law and Security Institutions Alexandre Zouev delivered a speech and emphasized that the adoption of this declaration is an important step.

He thanked ANAMA and the UN Mission in Azerbaijan for organizing the international conference and added that important and interesting discussions were conducted within the framework of the conference.

Noting the danger of landmines, the UN official added that it is a fact that more civilians are victims of landmines and unexploded ordnance.
