Difficulties facing Azerbaijani IDPs highlighted at UK Lords Chamber

On September 21, at the initiative of the pro-Armenian members of the UK Lords Chamber, a discussion was held regarding the latest situation in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani embassy to Britain told APA.

Caroline Cox, who is known for her Islamophobic stance, and others made baseless claims against Azerbaijan and tried to present the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia on religious grounds.

In response to these groundless claims, Lord David Howell noted that the issue is not one-sided and drew attention to the difficulties experienced by Azerbaijani IDPs who were exiled from their native land in the 1990s. He described Azerbaijan and Britain as strategic partners, saying Azerbaijan plays an important role in the geopolitical map of the region.
