"The main goal of holding an international forum in Shusha was to discuss peace and cooperation perspectives in the South Caucasus at the level of expert," said Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the International Relations Analysis Center (UNIA) while talking about the importance of international forum called "South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation" held in Shusha, APA reports.
He noted that a number of experts from several countries, including Argentina, Italy, Germany, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, and Georgia have attended the forum.
"We have two main goals here. The first goal is to discuss the policy of the Azerbaijani state and Azerbaijani leadership regarding the region, the second goal is to listen to the recommendations of the different experts, which means what is their view. Discussions have been already conducted. Several experts have especially mentioned that Azerbaijan is a leader in the region and is a country forming the agenda, Azerbaijan must be a leader in terms of both economy and policy after that and must take the initiative," said Farid Shafiyev.
UNIA chairman said that there are several proposals regarding certain common platforms with both Armenia and Georgia.
